I just pulled my baby boy onto my lap and hugged and kissed him tight.

Lord, it is so easy to be overcome by fear when we take in the world around us, and realize how fragile the lives of our sweet families really are. Give me grace for my kids Lord. Let me live each day knowing they are yours, and I get the privilege of keeping them for as long as you give me. Let me live each day fully loving them. We daily work on showing eachother how we love each other, how to respond using words and what ways are okay to show our anger, saddness, disappointment, fear...and the good ones, too - love, joy, thankfulness. For us I've learned to help my kids and myself name my emotions and help find ways to positively display them. I pray for them and myself about this very topic. I'll pray for you and your beautiful kiddos, too. This isn't a sin of the parents we want to pass on to our kids, it will end with us. Take care and enjoy those precious children.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03210820513382353417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4205683506281157249.post-32315187702873142312009-09-08T20:51:45.958-07:002009-09-08T20:51:45.958-07:00I felt this exact same way this last week. I am reminded of Romans 7:19 "For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing."

Why do so many of my days end like this? I am so intentional about finding outlets for them to learn and experience new things; yet most often, I leave their pursuit of you to osmosis - hoping that my children will naturally follow You because they've watched us and the people at church do it. I know I need to be most intentional about praying that they will hunger for you first and then the rest will follow. Help me to teach them that You are more important than any success in life and help me to make that more of a priority in our household.

Thanks Heidi.niccole w.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12012089279165227102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4205683506281157249.post-58968618355453779952009-07-28T23:53:15.964-07:002009-07-28T23:53:15.964-07:00"and they will have to decide what to do with..."and they will have to decide what to do with a man named Jesus" I love this line. I think too often I remind my children what to do with other things in their lives instead of focusing on the most important one - Jesus himself. If my children love Him with all of their hearts, then the rest will fall into place. The child on the playground will be loved because Jesus is love. The party will be unattended because their confidence will be found in him instead of others. They will forgive because they have been forgiven. I've got to stop focusing on teaching the morality I want my children to live by and instead focus on letting them fall in love with their creator.niccole w.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12012089279165227102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4205683506281157249.post-28091286095474116432009-07-27T22:10:59.557-07:002009-07-27T22:10:59.557-07:00Thanks Heidi.
